Ferriby Live is delighted to host Clap Trap Theatre performing The Wreckers.
Two friends rent an idyllic cottage on a peninsula that gets cut off by the tide.
The friends’ hope for a much-needed break soon unravels as, eerily, they discover the cottage was built from the hull of a boat, lured onto the rocks by wreckers…wreckers who killed the boat’s crew and looted its cargo.
The peninsula is haunted by a child who was drowned that day and she’s been waiting over two hundred years for her revenge.
And now, finally, the time has come…..
Ticket price £18 per person which includes a £1 booking fee
Clap Trap Theatre was founded in 2007 by Cal Stockbridge and Gareth Jenkins. Their aim was to create intimate productions of both new and classical works and to bring these to a wide variety of venues around Yorkshire and beyond.
Over the past nineteen years they have performed in arts centres, country houses, major theatres, village halls, Methodist chapels and Quaker Meeting Houses all over the UK. They have commissioned and performed seven new plays during this period and are delighted by the recent sellout tour of Switcheroo by Tom Needham which opened at the York Theatre Royal studio in May, 2025.
Their base is a small-holding near Pickering in Ryedale where rehearsals are in a converted barn shared with a small colony of bats…
